Author Guidelines

I. Articles on the results of work carried out in scientific institutions must have permission to publish (a cover letter from the directorate of the relevant institute or administration, an extract from the minutes of the meeting of the academic council, department or department, as well as an examination report).

II. An author must submit two copies of the article in Belarusian, Russian or English language. The article must follow the type requirements — Times New Roman as a font, 12 points (including formulas), line spacing 1.5. Numbered formulas must be placed into a separate line. All authors must sign the article.

III. An article must have the following structure:

Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) index;

submission date;

authors' initials and family names;

full affiliation of each author including city and country;

title of the article;

an abstract in Russian (100-200 words) with keywords (5-10 words);

an abstract in English (100-200 words) with keywords (5-10 words);

an abstract in Belarusian (100-200 words) with keywords (5-10 words);

main text of the article;

reference list (15 to 40 references);

information about each author in Russian and English: surname, name and patronym (in full), academic degree, title, position, place of work with address, e-mail address, telephones.

  1. Abstract in Russian must present briefly the main results of the work. It should be clear even in absence of the full-text article; it should be informative and well-structured.
  2. Keywords, i.e. a set of the words, which represent text contents in the terms of the object, field, and investigation methods
  3. Body text of an article should not be longer than 32 pages (i.e. below 80,000 characters). Short reports, reviews and chronicles should not exceed 8 pages (20,000 characters), including tables and figures (up to 8–10). We expect a clear structure of the text material, containing introduction, goals and objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. For articles in English or Belarusian, abstract (100-200 words) and keywords (5-10 words) in Russian must be provided.
  4. List of 15–40 references should be arranged in accordance with the requirements of The Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus (GOST 7.1-2003). Cited materials should be gathered into a general list in the order of mentioning and referred to by a sequence number in square brackets (e.g., [1]) in the text. Citation of unpublished works is not allowed.
  5. Any funding information (support of projects with grants, etc.) should be given both in Russian and in English under the titles «Благодарности» and «Acknowledgements».

IV. An electronic copy of the article must be brought to editorial office on USB flash drive, or, alternatively, sent by e-mail to prirod_res@mail.ru. Microsoft Word (in Windows) for text and MathType for formulas are only allowed. Do not use the embedded equation editor in Microsoft Office 2007 and higher, since it is not supported in publishing process. Insert symbols via the menu “Insert\Symbol”. Switch to superscript and subscript (С2, С4) via the menu «Format\Font\», «Format\Font\Subscript». Type Roman letters in italic and Greek letters in regular (use the “Symbol” type for Greek symbols). Chemical elements (N, Cl) should be noted in regular as well.

V. Black-and-white and color figures must be inserted into article body text (Word), as well as given as separate files in tif format (600 ppi). It is desirable to provide figures also in their original format (Corel Draw, Excel diagram, Origin Pro, etc.), depending on a software they were made in.  Use primary type for text on figures, typefaces of characters (Greek, Roman) being the same as in body text. Type size should be comparable to the size of the figure (8 points, preferably). If you provide hardcopies of figures separately, write the authors’ names and the article title on the backside. Photos must be submitted both as files (tif, jpg, png, eps) and in hardcopies.

VI. When an article is received by editors, they assign it for reviewing, and then a member of editorial board visas it. The main criteria for publication are novelty and information value of the article. If the article is returned to authors for revision after the review, editorial board considers the revised manuscript as newly submitted, and the day of arrival of final version is regarded as the date of receipt. Those articles, which are out of the Journal’s subjects, are returned to the authors after the conclusion of the editorial board. The articles which do not satisfy the rules for Authors are not accepted by the Editorial Board.

Submit materials for publication to the following address: Room 119, 1 Akademicheskaya Street, Minsk BY-220072, Republic of Belarus, the editorial office of the journal Natural Resources. Phone: +375 17 272 19 19.
